Find the fields
- Open Home.
- Select the intended agent.
- Open Build → Settings.
- Find Welcome Message and Suggested Conversation Starters.
Write the welcome message
Keep the greeting to 50 words or fewer. The field has a word counter and warns when the text is too long. For a fictional shop assistant:Hi, I help with our hiking-boot notes and shop FAQ. Tell me what you need, or choose a question below. If our notes do not cover it, I will point you to the shop team.Replace the example with your agent’s actual scope.
- Enter your greeting in Welcome Message.
- Wait for its automatic save.
Choose useful starter questions
You can have up to 5 prompts. Choose questions supported by the agent’s actual documents or instructions. For the fictional shop, examples include:- How should I compare hiking boots?
- What should I bring when asking about a return?
- What information do you have about this shop?

Writing the questions in Build and showing them in the widget are separate choices.- Open Design.
- Find Features.
- Turn on Starter prompts.
- Select Save Changes.
- Wait for All Changes Saved.
- Check the widget preview’s opening screen.
If the greeting or starters are missing
- The greeting has a validation error: shorten it to the counter’s limit and let it save.
- A starter edit is missing: return to Suggested Conversation Starters, enter the text and click outside its field.
- Saved starters do not appear: check Design → Features → Starter prompts, then save Design changes.
- The opening looks unchanged: confirm the intended agent and its opening screen. An existing conversation is different from a fresh opening.
