Open the model picker
If Choose Your AI Model is already open for the intended agent, continue with Choose from the available options.- Open Home.
- Select the agent you want to edit.
- Open Build → Settings.
- In Agent Builder, select Choose Your AI Model.
Choose from the available options
The picker lets you browse models or describe the job you need help with. Its options and plan requirements can change, so use the choices shown to your account. For a fictional shop assistant, a task description could be:Answers short factual questions using a small set of product and shop-policy documents; asks for clarification when needed. This describes the work you want the model to handle. Replace it with your own task. A model name that mentions reasoning does not give the agent access to your account or outside applications. To search by task:
- Enter your description in the picker’s search box.
- Press Enter.
- Wait for the relevant choices to appear.
- Continue with Select and save the model.
Select and save the model
Note the current model’s name if you may want to return to it.- Review the option you want and any plan indication.
- Select that model.
- Wait for the builder’s save operation to finish.
Check the saved choice and try it
Reopen the same agent from Home. Open Build → Settings → Choose Your AI Model and check the selection. Then try a question your own sources answer in the builder preview. On a wide screen, use the chat beside the settings; on a narrow screen, select Chat Preview within Build. Compare the full reply with your source and instructions. Test your agent while you build explains that check. For the fictional shop example, ask about a product or returns fact present in the attached document. A greeting alone does not show how well the model handles that job.If the result is unexpected
- The picker is still loading: wait for its options before selecting a model.
- A Running as notice appears: the preview is using a different model from the saved choice because of the current plan. Read When your agent answers with a different model before treating the saved setting as lost.
- A reply misses a fact: check that the right knowledge is attached and shows Ready before changing models again.
- A reply stops partway through: check Max Length using Fine-tune how your agent answers.
- The new model handles the task poorly: reopen Choose Your AI Model and select the previous model you noted. Wait for its save, then try the same representative question again.
