# Leave a space

> Understand why the owner cannot leave their personal space through Team, remove themselves or transfer ownership through a role control.

You cannot leave your own Alysium space through the Team menu. The current space contains only its owner, and a member-leaving workflow is not available. The personal-space owner cannot remove themselves or transfer ownership through a role control.

Leaving a space, ending a browser session and deleting account data are different requests. Choose the guidance that matches what you want to do.

## End a session or use another account

Use [Log out](https://docs.alysium.ai/getting-started/log-out.md) if you want to end the current browser session. Logging out does not remove your space or delete your account.

If you intend to use another account, follow [Sign in to Alysium](https://docs.alysium.ai/getting-started/sign-in-to-alysium.md) afterward. Review the guest-session warning before logging out of a temporary session. Changing accounts does not grant membership in someone else's space.

## Ask about account or data deletion

Use [Delete your account or your data](https://docs.alysium.ai/getting-started/delete-your-account-or-your-data.md) for an account-level request. A leave or logout action is not a deletion request, refund request or confirmation that content already shared elsewhere has been removed.

## Resolve an unexpected space or access problem

If Home shows work you did not expect, read [Switch spaces](https://docs.alysium.ai/spaces/switch-spaces.md). The current sidebar has no space picker, so there is no switch-and-leave procedure to follow.

For an ownership or account-specific problem, use [Get help from a person](https://docs.alysium.ai/help/get-help-from-a-person.md). Describe the space and intended outcome. Do not treat a request or an error as confirmation that space access was removed.
