# Free and Pro plans compared

> Compare Free and Pro space plans, their included usage and additional-spending options before choosing a plan for your agents and files.

Free and Pro are plans for an Alysium **space**: the area that holds your agents, files and usage allowance. Compare their included usage and additional-spending options before choosing a plan.

## Compare the allowances

Credits measure AI usage, rather than a fixed number of messages. Different models and amounts of text can consume different amounts. Pro does not mean unlimited included messages or free additional usage. [How credits work](https://docs.alysium.ai/plans-and-billing/how-credits-work.md) explains the unit and how separate allowances are used.

**On-demand usage** means paid usage after the included credits are spent. Pro can stop at its allowance, or continue with this additional usage if enabled. ## A space plan is separate from an agent subscription

A paid creator's agent has its own offer, access fee and possible included usage. Buying that agent does not upgrade your space to Pro. Upgrading your space does not buy every paid agent. Use [Manage your agent subscriptions](https://docs.alysium.ai/plans-and-billing/manage-your-agent-subscriptions.md) to inspect those purchases separately.

## Find your current plan and usage

Open [Billing](https://app.alysium.ai/spaces?settings=billing). This link opens the current space's settings. Check the space name, then read the plan and subscription status at the top of **Billing & Subscription**. Check any displayed renewal or cancellation date.

For recorded usage, select **Consumption** in **Profile Settings**. Compare the current period's allowance, used credits and remaining amount. [Check your usage](https://docs.alysium.ai/plans-and-billing/check-your-usage.md) explains the period controls and breakdowns.

If Billing says **Subscription Details Unavailable**, retry the page or use **Open Billing Portal** when offered. Missing details do not establish that there is no subscription.

## Decide whether to upgrade

For example, someone learning to build a small FAQ agent can begin on Free and watch Consumption. Someone who needs a Pro model or more usage can compare Pro, then decide whether to permit additional spending. These are example decisions, not predictions of how many conversations the allowances cover.

You manage the Pro subscription for the space you own. Use [Upgrade to Pro](https://docs.alysium.ai/plans-and-billing/upgrade-to-pro.md) when you intend to purchase it. Review the actual price, billing interval and payment terms in checkout before confirming.
