# Choose your privacy settings

> Choose the separate Product analytics and Session Replay preferences for optional collection during your app use, then check each setting.

Choose whether optional **Product analytics** and **Session Replay** can run for your app use. These are separate preferences.

They do not delete chats, change agent knowledge or decide whether an agent creator can read retained conversations. ## Open Privacy

1. Open [Team settings](https://app.alysium.ai/spaces?settings=team).
2. Select **Privacy**.
3. Wait for your choices to load.

The link opens your active space's settings on the **Team** tab; select **Privacy** there. From elsewhere in the app, select **Profile Settings** in the sidebar, then **Privacy**, and wait for your choices to load. Continue with [Choose Product analytics](#choose-product-analytics) or [Choose Session Replay](#choose-session-replay).

If the link asks you to sign in, sign in. Open it again if needed.

The screen shows your saved choice and a separate explanation of what is actually running. If choices are still loading with the session, wait rather than repeatedly toggling.

## Choose Product analytics

**Product analytics** shares limited feature-use events. Its description excludes chat and prompt text, answers, file contents, filenames, names, email and full URLs. Turn it off if you want to use the app without those optional feature-use events.

1. Set the **Product analytics** switch to your preferred on or off state.
2. Read the saved choice.
3. Read the explanation of what is actually running.

The choice saves without a separate **Save Changes** button. Turning analytics on does not itself allow Session Replay. Turning analytics off stops effective replay too, while the saved replay preference remains separate.

## Choose Session Replay

**Session Replay** is a masked view of movement through approved areas. It stays off unless you allow it, and its switch may be unavailable.

1. Expand **What Session Replay records**.
2. Read the explanation before deciding.
3. Set the **Session Replay** switch to your preferred state, if available.
4. Read the saved choice.
5. Read the explanation of what is actually running.

This preference also saves without a separate Save Changes action. If replay cannot be enabled, read its explanation. An unrelated agent setting cannot enable it.

## Confirm the saved choice and effective state

A saved **Allowed** preference does not necessarily mean recording is running. Browser Do Not Track or feature availability can keep it off. Read the smaller explanation beside the badge; an allowed preference with an off explanation is not proof that saving failed.

After changing the intended preference, leave **Privacy** and reopen it. Check the saved choice and its effective-state explanation again.

If the saved choice still differs from what you selected, use [Get help from a person](https://docs.alysium.ai/help/get-help-from-a-person.md). Include the setting and the state shown. Keep private chat contents and passwords out of the report.
