# Who can see which conversations

> Understand the space owner's access to agent conversations, including visitor chats, and why chat access does not expose other visitors' history.

As the owner of a space, you can use Analytics to read conversations with that space's agents, including visitor chats. Someone who can chat with an agent does not gain access to other visitors' conversation history.

Your space currently contains only you, its owner. Inviting other members and assigning roles are not available.

## Chat access and Analytics access are different

A space is the home for your agents and files. The space that owns an agent determines access to its Analytics. Someone may be able to chat with your agent through its published page or a shared link. That does not make them a member of your space.

This distinction matters when you share an assistant with customers. They can ask it questions without receiving the owner's view of everyone else's questions and replies. Likewise, being able to use an agent owned by someone else does not give you their Analytics access.

To review your own agent, open [Analytics](https://app.alysium.ai/analytics) and select it under **Your Agents**. The link opens the general overview, where you choose your agent. [See one agent’s analytics](https://docs.alysium.ai/analytics/see-one-agents-analytics.md) explains how to open its conversations.

## Why your own practice chat can be missing

The conversation list can focus on visitor chats. If **Show teammate conversations** is available, it also controls whether your own chats as the space owner appear. The label includes the owner even though there are no other members in your space.

For example, you might test your Workshop FAQ agent before sharing it with attendees. If you made that practice chat as the space owner, turn on **Show teammate conversations** to include it in the list. Search follows this same setting.

Turning the setting on changes the list and its count. It does not add your practice chat to visitor **People** or other visitor summary metrics. A list with your practice chat can therefore have a different count from the visitor summary without anything being missing.

## A filter can hide a conversation you can read

The selected agent, keyword search and date range all affect what appears. Before treating an empty list as an access problem, check the agent name, clear unintended search text and clear an unintended date range. Include your own practice chats when that is what you are looking for.

These controls change the view; they do not grant access. A loading error is a separate problem: use its **Retry** control when offered before interpreting the result as an empty history. If the wrong agents appear, open [Home](https://app.alysium.ai/spaces) to check the account and active space you are using.

## A downloaded copy has a different audience

[Export conversations](https://docs.alysium.ai/analytics/export-conversations.md) creates a separate file on your device. The original conversation keeps its access rules inside Alysium, but anyone you send the file to can read the copy.

Check its contents before sharing it. A single-conversation download contains the selected exchange. **Bulk Download** collects accessible history for the selected agent and ignores the current list's search, date filter and **Show teammate conversations** setting. A filtered screen is therefore not a reliable preview of a bulk file's contents.
