# How Alysium is different

> See how Alysium brings agent instructions, knowledge, visitor appearance and sharing together so you can prepare an assistant in one app.

Alysium brings agent instructions, knowledge, visitor appearance and sharing into one app. You can develop an assistant and prepare it for visitors without moving those parts between separate products.

The useful comparison is the workflow you need. This guide explains how Alysium's parts fit together so you can compare them with your requirements.

## One agent, from draft to visitor chat

From [Home](https://app.alysium.ai/spaces), open the agent you want to work on. Its builder has three main areas:

| Area | What you use it for |
| - | - |
| **Build** | Write the agent's instructions, attach its reference knowledge, choose its model and try its replies. |
| **Design** | Change the visitor chat's appearance. |
| **Deploy** | Choose how people reach the agent. |

For example, a fictional workshop could develop an FAQ assistant, add its approved notes, adjust the greeting and give attendees a standalone link. You work on the same agent through those stages. [How to get started](https://docs.alysium.ai/about-alysium/how-to-get-started.md) walks through a complete practice project.

## Decide what the agent should answer from

Instructions describe the agent's job and behavior. Knowledge supplies the reference material it can use for answers. You can add files or pasted text, reuse material from Library, or add website sources. [Give your agent knowledge](https://docs.alysium.ai/knowledge-and-library/give-your-agent-knowledge.md) explains those choices.

The knowledge behavior controls let you choose how closely answers should rely on those sources and what to say when information is missing. See [Control how your agent uses its knowledge](https://docs.alysium.ai/knowledge-and-library/control-how-your-agent-uses-its-knowledge.md). Ask questions from your actual material and check the replies before sharing the agent.

## Choose how people reach it

A [standalone link and QR code](https://docs.alysium.ai/share-and-deploy/share-your-agent-with-a-link-and-qr-code.md) let people open the agent's chat directly. A [website widget](https://docs.alysium.ai/share-and-deploy/put-your-agent-on-your-website.md) puts the chat on a website you manage. [AgentHub](https://app.alysium.ai/agenthub) is where people discover creator offers.

These routes have separate requirements. Saving an agent draft, making it public and offering it for sale are different outcomes. Choose the route that matches who needs to use the assistant.

## Compare against your requirements

Use [What Alysium costs](https://docs.alysium.ai/about-alysium/what-alysium-costs.md) to distinguish the space plan, agent subscriptions and extra usage. A space currently contains only its owner; invitations and member-role workflows are unavailable.

Read [What Alysium cannot do yet](https://docs.alysium.ai/help/what-alysium-cannot-do-yet.md) before relying on an integration or outside action. For a specific privacy or confidentiality requirement, start with [Is my data safe with Alysium](https://docs.alysium.ai/about-alysium/is-my-data-safe-with-alysium.md).

The connected workflow does not establish that another product lacks these features or that Alysium will give more accurate answers. Compare the actual task, sources, access and cost you need.
